Phrasal verb הוא פועל המשולב עם מילית (preposition / adverb) ליצירת משמעות חדשה. לדוגמה: bring about = לגרום ל; call off = לבטל. המשמעות החדשה אינה ניתנת להסקה מהפועל בלבד — לכן חשוב ללמוד אותם.

טיפ: בשאלת השלמת משפטים, אם אחת האפשרויות היא phrasal verb והמשפט עוסק בביצוע, גרימה, ביטול או גילוי — זו לרוב התשובה הנכונה.
